Introduction

Research interests include:

·        Semiconductor optical amplifiers and applications (wavelength conversion, switching, pulse amplification) in ultrafast optical communications including coherent systems.

·        Laser interferometric vibration and high-voltage sensing

·        Optical coherence tomography for biomedical applications.

 

The group has been awarded many research contracts and is also engaged in collaborative research projects with international universities and industrial research centres.

Quantum-Dash semiconductor optical amplifier modelling and applications - collaboration with Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieurs de Brest (ENIB), France and Alcatel-Thales III-V lab, Paris.

Quantum-well semiconductor optical amplifier modelling – in collaboration with the University of Toulouse and Alcatel-Thales III-V lab, Paris.

Laser interferometric vibrometry and high-voltage sensing collaboration with Universidade Estadual Paulista, Brazil.
